Europe working group meets at DBJR: focus on EU budget and youth strategy

The Europe working group of the German Federal Youth Council (DBJR) met in Berlin on 23 February 2026 to exchange expertise.

The focus was on the European Union's Multiannual Financial Framework, the future of the EU Youth Strategy and the further development of the Youth Goals.

As a joint check-in, the German Federal Youth Council and the DNK reported on current processes and projects. This was followed by reports from the DBJR member organisations, which provided insights into current and new projects and youth associations.

Claudius Schmidt-Faber, Senior Economic Expert at the EU Commission, provided a technical impulse with information and explanations on the EU's upcoming Multiannual Financial Framework. He provided an insight into how it works and the changes it will bring.

The participants also discussed the future of the EU Youth Strategy and the Youth Goals. In particular, they focussed on the further development of the Youth Goals.
