About the European Youth Policy Working Group

The European Youth Policy Working Group of the German Federal Youth Council serves to exchange and coordinate views on current European policy developments relevant to the work of youth organisations. It pools the perspectives of the member organisations, accompanies central processes at EU level, such as the EU Youth Strategy, and supports joint positioning.

Contents of the meeting

The second meeting (digital) of the European Youth Policy Working Group took place on 13 April 2026. The focus was on current developments in the EU Youth Dialogue and the EU Youth Strategy, particularly with regard to the (digital) EU Youth Conference under the Cypriot Council Presidency. Discussions focussed on content as well as participation opportunities for young people and youth organisations.

Another focus was on updates on bilateral cooperation between member organisations. Insights were provided into ongoing partnerships, exchange formats and joint projects.

In addition, participants from their organisations reported on current European policy activities, challenges and points of contact for closer cooperation within the working group.
