Strategic orientation working group: Federal Executive Board members discuss further development of the Coordination Centre for Youth Participation in Climate Issues

The aim of the working group is to strengthen the mandate for the thematic priorities by bringing together the federal executive boards and to drive forward both the strategic and structural development of the youth participation format.

After welcoming and introducing the participants, there was first an update on current developments at the coordination centre and on relevant climate policy processes. This was followed by a discussion in small groups about the areas in which the youth associations and organisations would like to play a particularly strong role in the future and which structures could facilitate good interaction between the full-time advisors at the Coordination Office, the voluntary youth representatives and the associations themselves.

The participants were keen to intensify dialogue on climate policy lobbying activities and further strengthen synergies between the associations. At the same time, the visibility of the youth participation format within the structures of the youth organisations is to be increased.

In future, the federal executive boards of the participating youth associations and organisations will be invited to strategic consultations twice a year. The next meeting of the Strategic Orientation Working Group is planned for spring 2026 as a digital meeting.
