Unbroken Solidarity with Ukraine and Its Civil Society

Our solidarity with the people of Ukraine remains unwavering. Since the beginning of the war, youth organizations in Germany and across Europe have stood by their Ukrainian partners. They provide humanitarian aid, organize exchanges, and give a voice to young refugees. We continue to stand firmly by the side of our friends at the National Youth Council of Ukraine (NYCU) and its member organizations.

However, youth organizations in Ukraine face immense challenges. Safe spaces for meetings and engagement are lacking, funding is scarce, and the ongoing war confronts young people with new uncertainties every day. At the same time, Ukrainian youth organizations continue their tireless efforts to support their society - through humanitarian aid, psychosocial support, and reconstruction.

We call on political decision-makers to strengthen support for youth organizations and young people in Ukraine. Youth organizations must be empowered, exchange programs must be secured, and the political participation of young people must be promoted. The future of Ukraine is a European future – and young people play a key role in shaping it.
