Youth travel department launches survey on participation fees for holiday camps
The aim of the survey is to visualise the development of participation fees and, on this basis, to provide reliable data for youth policy advocacy.
The Youth Travel Department will evaluate the responses received nationwide and broken down by federal state and then make the results available to the member organisations of the Bundesjugendring. The findings can be used, for example, as a basis for joint lobbying in the area of leisure travel promotion.
The specialist unit asks all member organisations and their subdivisions to report the amount of participation fees for 2025 and the fees calculated for 2026. Participation is possible until 19 December 2025.
It is expressly requested that the survey also be forwarded to structures at state and local level in order to obtain as comprehensive a picture as possible of the current situation.
An earlier survey by the Bundesjugendring had already shown that participation fees for holiday camps increased by around 25 per cent on average between 2019 and 2023. The current data should now provide information on how this trend will continue and what consequences this will have for the funding of holiday camps.
