Work shadowing week at the SPD parliamentary group in the Bundestag

"The work shadowing week is a valuable opportunity for young people to contribute their perspectives directly and to engage in direct dialogue with MPs," explained Daniela Broda, Chairwoman of the Federal Youth Ring, at the opening of the work shadowing week.
The work shadowing week is organised in cooperation with the Bundesjugendring for young, committed people from youth association structures and offers them the opportunity to accompany an SPD member of parliament for a week of meetings and gain an exclusive insight into the parliamentary processes of the Bundestag.
The week began with a background discussion with Derya Türk-Nachbaur, Parliamentary Secretary of the SPD parliamentary group. The trainees then got to know the supervising staff and SPD MPs in their offices. In the days that followed, they accompanied the work in the MPs' offices and gained insights into everyday parliamentary life.
The agenda also included many insights into working group and committee meetings as well as the opportunity to attend a session of the Bundestag. There were also discussions on youth policy with Tim Klüssendorf, Secretary General of the SPD, Josephine Ortleb, Vice President of the German Bundestag, Jasmina Hostert, Spokesperson for Family, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth of the SPD parliamentary group and Dr Matthias Miersch, Chairman of the SPD parliamentary group.
The Bundesjugendring publishes further insights into the work shadowing week here on its Instagram channel.
