Juleica digitally available in Apple and Google Wallet

Juleica holders now also have the option of uploading their valid Juleica as a pass to their Apple or Google Wallet so that they always have it with them digitally. The wallet pass is a digital copy of the card.

This is currently an additional, optional and voluntary offer. Every Juleica holder will continue to receive a Juleica as a physical card.
There are currently no binding regulations on the recognition of the digital card, so it cannot be guaranteed that the Juleica will be accepted if it is only presented digitally - this applies in particular to simultaneous use as an honorary card.

The technical specifications and restrictions at Google and Apple lead to some special features with the digital card

with the Apple Wallet:

  • The personal photo can be displayed on the Apple Pass.

  • In federal states where the Juleica is also recognised as a volunteer card, the personal photo is replaced by the volunteer card logo.

with the Google Wallet:

  • The personal photo cannot be displayed for data protection reasons specified by Google.

  • In federal states where the Juleica is also recognised as a volunteer card, the volunteer card logo will be displayed.

The next few months will serve as a test phase for a digital Juleica. Adjustments and further developments are possible at any time. At the same time, the DBJR is examining the future possibilities of a digital Juleica and how all stakeholders can be involved in a corresponding decision-making process.
