Coordination Centre for Youth Participation in Climate Issues: Areas for action in the National Climate and Social Plan – youth perspectives have been submitted
The Coordination Office for Youth Participation in Climate Issues – a youth participation initiative within the Federal Ministry for Climate Action, run by the Bundesjugendring – has closely supported the process surrounding the National Climate and Social Plan. Youth associations and organisations have drawn up a joint position paper setting out specific demands and have raised their concerns in stakeholder dialogues, discussions with the relevant federal ministry and at European level.
The Coordination Office makes it clear that the National Climate and Social Plan must be finalised swiftly and submitted to the European Commission. Young people are particularly affected by energy and mobility poverty and must be taken into account in the social design of climate protection measures.
