Der stellvertretende Vorsitzende des Bundesjugendrings Moritz Tapp spricht in einer Folge des ARD-Jugendformats neuneinhalb
n a recent episode of the ARD youth programme "neuneinhalb", the focus was on the new federal government and a key question: How can young people in Germany have a greater say? Moritz Tapp, Deputy Chairman of the German Federal Youth Council, was on the programme together with Federal Youth Minister Karin Prien.

Moritz made it clear in the interview that the new federal government has made some good initial steps, "but it's not enough. Young people need continuous and binding opportunities to contribute their perspectives and help shape decisions," said Tapp.

He pointed out that, according to studies, the majority of young people in Germany do not feel sufficiently heard by politicians. He therefore emphasised: "Firm structures, rights and resources are needed so that youth participation is not just symbolic, but has real influence."

Moritz Tapp also had clear words on the voting age: the "review" of lowering the age to 16 announced in the coalition agreement should not be postponed. "Young people expect to finally be given this right."
