New youth representative in the EU Youth Dialogue

Nevio Chodura is the new EU Youth Representative of the EU Youth Dialogue in Germany and, together with Eva-Marie Deckers, forms the new team of EU Youth Representatives. Together, they will be part of the German delegation at the digital EU Youth Conference from 17 to 20 March 2026, where they will represent the interests of young people in Germany.

At the conference in Cyprus, they will be working intensively on Youth Goal 1 "Bringing the EU together with young people" for the third time. For Nevio, one thing is certain: young people must be taken seriously and involved - especially when it comes to difficult decisions. If decisions are made over the heads of young people, this creates mistrust. In politically tense times, constructive cooperation is all the more important. It is important to create trust by realising demands.

Nevio is 19 years old and is studying law. He has been active in the DLRG youth organisation and the JEF (Young European Federalists) for several years and was previously a student representative. In the DLRG youth organisation, he supervises swimming training sessions and other youth events, e.g. camps. He is also regularly active in the water rescue service. He is involved in educational work on Europe for the JEF.
