Project start: Application qualification of the quality standards for child and youth participation at federal level

The aim of the project is to make youth participation at federal level more effective and practical - especially where young people come together in associations and organisations to jointly represent their interests. The focus is on the further development of the section of the "Quality standards for child and youth participation at federal level" (7.3), which the Federal Youth Council has developed together with the Federal Youth Ministry. This section deals with the participation of young people at federal level and is now to be concretised and made more application-oriented.

What is planned?
As part of the project, the Federal Youth Council is initiating talks with various federal ministries to present the expectations of youth organisations for effective youth participation and to explain ways of integrating youth participation into ministerial work. Under the direction of the Youth Participation Specialist and Coordination Centre of the Federal Youth Council, further participation processes are to be developed and trialled with youth associations. The knowledge gained from this process will be incorporated into the application qualification of section 7.3 of the quality standards - with the aim of providing concrete recommendations for the successful participation of young organised civil society at federal level.

A central orientation for the project is the Coordination Centre for Youth Participation in Climate Issueswhose approaches are now to be transferred to other policy areas - e.g. in the fields of transport, health and housing.

The results of the project will be presented and discussed at a specialist event in Berlin on 10 December and will subsequently be made available on standards.jugendbeteiligung.de as a practice-oriented supplement to the existing section 7.3 of the quality standards.
