The agenda for 2026 covered the DFJW’s activities, the situation of partners in the school and non-school sectors, and the implementation of the strategy on climate and environmental protection. The Advisory Board discussed the draft action plan for the coming year. Finally, the Advisory Board also took stock of the three-year term of office.
International youth work is one of the core areas of activity of the German Federal Youth Council (DBJR). Through various committees, the DBJR advocates for favourable conditions for international youth exchanges, so that as many young people as possible have the opportunity to gain experience through encounters with peers from other countries, thereby shaping youth policy in line with peace policy.
Its involvement in the field of international youth policy includes not only organising youth exchanges and programmes for youth workers, but also close cooperation with specialist and funding bodies in the field of international youth work. These include the Franco-German Youth Office, of which the DBJR is co-chair.
