Meeting of the German-Czech Youth Council in Bamberg
TANDEM
The German-Czech Youth Council met in Bamberg from 9 to 11 March 2026 to discuss the budget and annual planning. A new thematic focus for the years 2027 to 2029 was also discussed, which will shape the upcoming programme work. Raoul Taschinski (JDAV) took part as the external representative of the Bundesjugendring.
An exchange with the Czech National Youth Council (Česká rada dětí a mládeže, ČRDM) took place on the fringes of the meeting. The members of the Czech-German Youth Council also had the opportunity to gain an insight into the encounter work of the Čojč Theatre Network Bohemia Bavaria as well as discussions in the open children's and youth centre in the municipality of Oberhaid.
International youth work is one of the German Federal Youth Council's key areas of activity. In various committees, the DBJR advocates for good framework conditions in international youth exchange so that as many young people as possible have the opportunity to gain experience in encounters with their peers from other countries and so that youth policy can be thought of in cross-border terms.
In addition to the implementation of youth encounters and expert programmes, the commitment in the field of international youth policy also includes close cooperation with the specialist and funding bodies of international youth work. This includes the Coordination Centre for German-Czech Youth Exchange / Koordinační centrum česko-německých výměn mládeže (TANDEM).
