Social media between lifeworld and responsibility

More than 40 participants from youth associations and rings discussed the opportunities and risks of social media for democracy at a digital event organised by the German Federal Youth Council on 29 September 2025. Luna Möbius, activist and political communications officer, gave a keynote speech on how democratic content can be designed for young target groups on platforms such as TikTok and Instagram.

The focus was on questions of reach, responsibility and authenticity in the digital space. Luna Möbius provided insights into political content work and emphasised the importance of personal formats, clear target group orientation and realistic resource planning. Strategies were discussed in small groups on how youth organisations can use social media sensibly and credibly for their work.
