SPD parliamentary group invites youth representatives to shadow in the Bundestag

From 16 to 20 March 2026, the SPD parliamentary group is once again offering a work shadowing week for committed young people in cooperation with the German Federal Youth Council. Participants can accompany MPs and their teams in the Bundestag and get to know parliamentary work at close quarters.

The aim of the programme is to encourage young people from associations and civil society organisations to get involved in politics and introduce their own topics into the political discourse. In preparation, a preliminary seminar will take place on Sunday, 15 March 2026, followed by a get-together at the Bundesjugendring in Berlin. During the internship, participants will take part in meetings, discussions and committees and experience the Bundestag in action.

A subsidy of up to 200 euros towards travel costs is possible; participants are responsible for their own accommodation and catering costs. Applications are open to young people aged 18 and over who are active in a youth organisation or association and share social democratic values.

The closing date for applications is 18 January 2026.
