Expert event on 10 December: Participating with quality - lessons learned on youth participation at federal level

On 10 December 2025, the Expert and Coordination Office for Youth Participation at the Federal Youth Council invites you to the final event of the project for the application qualification of the quality standards for child and youth participation at federal level in Berlin. The focus will be on key project results and their significance for effective, sustainable and structurally anchored youth participation in the cooperation between youth organisations and federal ministries.

The event brings together representatives from politics, administration, youth organisations and professional practice. The potential of participation by young people organised in youth associations at federal level and the practical further development of quality standards for youth participation will be discussed: What are the structural arguments in favour of young people participating through their youth association structures? What can youth organisations achieve as participation partners? And what concrete recommendations for action can be derived from the existing quality standards for practice?

In addition to the welcoming address by Mareike Lotte Wulf, Parliamentary State Secretary at the BMBFSFJ, the keynote speech on the project results and a panel discussion , the programme offers space for in-depth exchange in interactive think tanks. Participants will discuss conditions for success and structural challenges as well as perspectives for future participation processes.
