Organising the first digital EUYC – Experiences and Recommendations

At the EU Youth Conference 200 participants explored, discussed and worked on the topics youth, democracy and participation and developed ideas and demands on how the Youth Goal #9 “Space and Participation for All” could be realised. With the document "Organising EUYC - Experiences and Recommendations" we want to report what we learned and what we can recommend based on our conference and thus pass on ideas to others.

In this paper, we as German Federal Youth Council (DBJR) share our experiences in organising the EU Youth Conference (EUYC) under the German EU Presidency. We want to give an insight into how we organised the conference and what we paid attention to, especially as this was the first ever digital EU Youth Conference. The document is divided in five chapters and includes general information (1), insights on the programme, methodology and digital tools (2) as well as details on the harvesting (i.e. how discussions and results were recorded and summarised) and the outcomes (3). Furthermore it contains some information about our communication (4) related to the event and about the infrastructure (5) that was needed for the EU Youth Conference.
